sara jane children’s boutique is Savannah’s premier children’s store offering hip and unique clothes and gifts for your little one. sara jane came about from a childhood dream, a love for fashion, a firm belief that children should feel confident in their clothes, and that shopping should be fun for kids.
sara jane is the brainchild of Sara Jane Strickland Stroupe, a Savannah native and lover of all things local. Sara Jane attended Savannah Country Day School and was a graduate of St. Vincent’s Academy. With entrepreneurism in her blood, (her parents were once the owners of the Hamilton- Turner Inn) Sara Jane always wanted to open her own business. After attending Savannah College of Art and Design’s Rising Star Program, she left Savannah in efforts of finding out everything she could about the retail industry. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor’s of Science in Fashion Merchandising. During college she worked at Peas and Carrots, in Oxford, Mississippi, where her dream came to life. Children’s retail mixed her two favorite things in life- fashion and children.
After graduation, Sara Jane worked in the Dillard’s executive development program in Dallas, Texas. She then went on to work for the Gymboree Corporation in Birmingham, Alabama as store manager for Janie & Jack, their boutique brand. Tired of working in her corporate job and her dream of owning her own business still lingering in her mind, the formation of sara jane children’s boutique came into effect.
Sara Jane is mom to Hadley Kate (3) and has Hayes on the way. She is also wife to Ryan.
